Jamaica Introduces E10
Two weeks ago the government of Jamaica introduced the E10 fuel which is a mixture of ethanol and Gasoline. After the Government introduced the E-10 blend of gasoline, multi-national marketing companies have been accused of dragging their feet in distributing the commodity to service stations.
Approximately 100 stations were targeted and prepared under phase one of a major national programme to market and distribute E-10 as an alternative petroleum based commodity for motorists.
Energy Minister Clive Mullings told RJR News that he was dissatisfied with the low levels of availability of the product despite assurances from marketing companies to carry out a full scale roll out.
